Lifestyle Makeover

So my parents have come and gone! And oh what a trip it was!

The absolute craziest thing we did was take a surfing lesson!

^ Me (Gigdet/Gadget) and my mom (Moon Doggie/Kitty)…I’ll have to get the before picture because it is way cute!

The nicknames are a long story, but I think these are the names we settled on.

Surfing was insane and exhausting and I only stood on my board like a few times, but my mom was a master at it. She even got a minor surfing injury, which I was a little jealous of.

My parents also fell in love with Wahoo’s fish tacos and I couldn’t drag them away from Huntington Beach.

Plus mine and LE’s cats were somewhat nice to my parents and hung out a little with them. So overall, everyone had a lovely time.

I would write more, but I am hungry for lunch and have to get my apartment back in order. Until tomorrow…

Legal Eagle and I have now been out in California for just over a year (our year mark was Sunday and we celebrated with pizza and champagne).

And what perfect timing because now my parents are on their way to visit…finally!

In one year I have managed to have about a million jobs.

In one year I have managed to interview a good handful of celebrities.

It has certainly been quite a year. From chicken pox/shingles to trips to Vegas, I cannot believe all that has gone on here.

But I am soooo ready for Season Two!

I mean, Season Two is when Vince comes along, which he is way better than Henry. I still don’t understand the Henry/Holly relationship.

Plus they move into the loft in Season Two. Everything just gets a little better and a little more settled in Season Two, so I am so beyond ready for my turn!

But with my parents here for a few days, the blogging will once again be put on pause, but I’m sure with my return, there will be much to say!

That is what the psychic told me. Many times over.

Legal Eagle and I went to our Tarot card reading this weekend and it was great, other than the unlucky in love thing.

But I am looking forward to the end of September because she said things will do a 180 for me, for the best.

So according to her my career will actually get going at some point and I am going in the right direction, blah blah.

Although, she did seem to allude to The Doc and that he isn’t out of the picture yet. Although he is quite out of the picture. And she may have said something about me not giving him enough of a chance, whatever.  And she also alluded to the fact that I find him completely unreliable. Bingo!

All in all, it was fun and I’ll take bits and pieces of it as accurate. The only freaky thing was that she hit on a few things about me that were eerily true. It wasn’t so much of a prediction as either she read me really really well or something psychic-y….

Also, got my hair cut this weekend and am really in love with it. Cute bangs and good layers. And no longer scraggly.

Oh! I just realized that this means that I did accomplish getting a hairstyle that I love! I am so on my WILAY way!

I’m exhausted and probably driving myself a little crazy over this whole job thing. I know that I have spent way too much time in front of my computer, checking for jobs or looking at my email, waiting for someone to respond.

So, I need some space. Not that I will stop looking by any means, but I will chill out a little. After all, all of my other internships came when I wasn’t really expecting them or necessarily looking for them.

- CosmoGIRL! came along while I was waiting to hear from Seventeen and randomly called them one day to see if they were filling internships.

- Newcity came while my oldest sister and I were sitting in a Chinese restaurant and she picked up one of their issues and I had never ever heard of them before.

- In Style came along while I had a job and would occasionally check editorial websites to see what was out there, but was not at all looking for an internship of all things.

I suppose they say you find love when you finally stop looking for it, but what I want more than that is a dream job, so I’m going to lighten up on myself and my email checking and job obsessing. I’ll do some temping and whatnot to pay the bills and of course I’ll keep freelancing.

Honestly, I should just be taking a bit from WILAY. Val found her dream bakery when she wasn’t even expecting it.

Plus now I can get reacquainted with Shopaholic who has been having such a hard time in Shopaholic and Sister.

Oh and better yet, Legal Eagle wants to go to a psychic! I have been dying to go. Really, I would go to a psychic everyday if I could. But she mentioned it this morning and now I am bursting with excitement and have to find a really good one.

And I have to find us a hairdresser soon! I have decided to get bangs again and am also excited about that.

Time for boring dishes…reality can be such a drag.

Can’t think of one thing in particular to blog about, so today will be a bunch of random, little things.

Last Friday I did make it to Blockbuster and have come to realize that I should not be allowed to go to Blockbuster alone, as I came out with 5 movies (I really wanted 6, but held back).

However, I have watched 3 of them already…2 to go!

And the reviews go as follows:

^ Word Wars - A-, good, but the people followed in it become pretty depressing. Wordplay, which is the crossword puzzle version of this film is much more recommended.

^ McLibel - B+, It’s interesting and I knew nothing about it, but goes a little slow for me and not enough juicy stuff.

^ Breakfast at Tiffany’s - A, Would have been an A+, but they have turned it into a color version and Blockbuster did not have the black and white…why would they do that? Don’t you just love milk in a martini glass…

I have a new show that I am so hooked on: Flipping Out (with Jeff Lewis). I love having new reality shows to love and gorge on.

^ He’s totally creepy looking!

But, he is so honest about being shallow and unemotional and needy. I love it. He’s way psycho, but so fascinating. I cannot get enough of this show and since I’ve never watched it, there is plenty for me to catch. This could be dangerous.

And another thing I am excited about: yet another blog!

Plus my party dress is featured on it today.

Now I must go spend the rest of my day like Carrie Bradshaw, sitting and contemplating and being fabulous in my little apartment. Oh wait…there are dishes to do, cat litter to be changed and jobs to be found. Until tomorrow…
